Oman, through its Ministry of Health, is currently participating in the 154th session of the Executive Board of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva. The session, which commenced today and will continue until January 27, 2024, is being led by Dr. Hilal Ali Al Sabti, the Minister of Health.
Moreover, Oman’s delegation will participate with several entries regarding several topics within the meeting’s agenda, namely the political resolution resulting from the 3rd High-Level Meeting of the General Assembly on the Prevention and Control of Non-communicable Diseases, the draft international action plan on protection against infection, and the Global Health for Peace Initiative, among others.
The meeting will approve a number of decisions and initiatives that were proposed by several countries, which are of interest to the region (with Oman backing a number of those).
Moreover, the meeting will highlight topics related to administration, governance, the Executive Board’s committees and the report of experts’ committees and study teams, among other topics.
