The Sultanate of Oman took part in the 10th ministerial meeting of the Arab-China Cooperation Forum at the Hospitality Palace in Beijing, China. Chinese President Xi Jinping inaugurated the forum in the presence of various Arab leaders, foreign ministers, and government officials.
Heading Oman’s delegation was Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, the Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs. The meeting, commemorating the 20th anniversary of the forum’s establishment in 2004, focused on advancing joint cooperation, exploring future common interests, and aligning positions on regional and international matters, particularly the Palestinian cause.
During his address, Al Harthy praised the strong strategic partnership between Arab nations and China, as well as the relations between Oman and China. He appreciated China's principled stance against Israeli aggression in Gaza, its support for the Palestinian cause, and its call for other international parties to do the same for a just and lasting resolution. Al Harthy also emphasized the importance of implementing the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative for a Two-State Solution, leading to an independent Palestinian state with full sovereignty based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
