Oman, Mauritania Explore Means Of Boosting Cooperation

Nouakchott: The Sultanate of Oman and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania have discussed their bilateral cooperation and ways to enhance it for the benefit of both countries.

The political talks took place between Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, the Foreign Minister of Oman, and Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad of Mauritania. The meeting was held in Nouakchott, Mauritania.

During the session, the two ministers explored opportunities to strengthen business and investment partnerships between private sector companies in both countries. They particularly focused on sectors such as fishing, mining, energy, agriculture, logistics, ports, and tourism.

The officials also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Furthermore, they expressed their support for initiatives aimed at promoting security, stability, and peace in the region and the world.

Additionally, the ministers emphasized the importance of international efforts to halt the Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip, Palestine. They highlighted the need for a ceasefire, the facilitation of humanitarian aid, the release of hostages, and the return of displaced Palestinians to their homes.

Moreover, the ministers reiterated the significance of adhering to international law and humanitarian principles. They also emphasized the need to advance efforts for an international peace conference to implement a two-state solution and end the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories.
