Muscat: The Youth and Human Resources Committee conducted field trips to Takatuf Petrofac Oman and the Oman Energy Institute.
The visits were intended to evaluate the alignment of training programs with employment requirements in Oman's energy sector.
The delegation was led by Younis Ali AlMandhari, chair of the Committee, and included His Excellency committee members.
During the visit to Takatuf Petrofac Oman, the Committee engaged with senior officials and training program supervisors.
The Institute conducted a thorough presentation to showcase its primary training areas, which include equipment mechanics, oil facility operations, industrial welding, and occupational safety technologies.
The presentation also covered program completion rates and the integration of institute graduates into energy and industrial projects.
The delegation visited the technical workshops and specialist laboratories.
The Committee members looked at the training simulation environments, as well as the advanced equipment and technology used at the Institute, including intelligent control systems and field-based engineering inspection tools.
The Committee praised the Institute's extensive training framework and successful combination of theoretical and practical learning.
At the second stop, the delegation visited the Oman Energy Institute, where officials greeted them.
The Committee assessed the available academic and vocational programs, which include electrical engineering, renewable energy, energy efficiency, and oil and gas technology.
The Institute also offers internationally recognized specialized courses in a variety of energy-related topics.
The members addressed the difficulty of aligning training outcomes with labour market demands and underlined the necessity of regularly updating curriculum to keep up with worldwide changes in the energy industry, particularly the move to clean and sustainable energy.
Younis Ali AlMandhari emphasized that these visits demonstrate the Committee's dedication to promoting projects that enhance Omani youth's abilities.
He reaffirmed the significance of specialised training as a critical driver for national human resource development.
The Committee, he noted, will make suggestions to improve the quality and efficacy of training programs and ensure that they are in accordance with national development goals.
