Oman Hosts International Conference On Standards To Help Victims Of Aircraft Accidents

An international conference titled “Assisting Victims of Airline Accidents and their Families” commenced in Muscat today. Over 200 experts specializing in aviation safety are participating in the two-day event organized by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology in collaboration with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

The opening ceremony was presided over by Dr. Hilal Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health.

The conference aims to educate relevant organizations on the ICAO standards for assisting victims of aircraft accidents and their families, the responsibilities of member states and airline companies, and the role of the aviation industry in Oman.

The activities on the first day focused on the implementation of ICAO air safety standards and the obligations of member states in the event of air accidents, among other key topics.
