The FAO Office in Muscat recently hosted a consultative meeting with key stakeholders in Oman, including representatives from agriculture, water, environment, and climate change sectors. This meeting was organized in relation to a framework agreement between the FAO and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources for a climate-friendly project titled “Building a Resilient Environment and Agricultural and Water Sustainable Resources in the Sultanate of Oman”, funded by the Green Climate Fund.
During the meeting, the project's objectives, study scope, and implementation program were discussed. A panel discussion provided an opportunity for participants to share their perspectives. The project activities aim to establish a communication and coordination network connecting government institutions and private sector entities involved in agriculture, water resources, and climate change. This network is designed to promote collaboration and adaptation to climate change challenges.
