Muscat: Oman Air has officially announced the introduction of flights connecting Muscat and Amsterdam, which will be the airline's 11th European destination. Commencing on July 1, 2025, Oman Air will operate direct flights to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol four times a week. This new route was unveiled during a signing ceremony attended by Con Korfiatis, the Chief Executive Officer of Oman Air, and Pieter van Oord, the CEO of Royal Schiphol Group, coinciding with His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s state visit to the Netherlands.
“We are excited to establish a direct link to Amsterdam, our first connection to this dynamic city. As we expand, we are prioritizing destinations that align with our strategic objectives and present long-term prospects for tourism and business collaboration. Europe is our second-largest revenue market, and Amsterdam serves as a crucial hub for both business and leisure travel in the region. Additionally, the strengthening economic relations with Oman make this route a perfect fit for our growing European network,” stated Con Korfiatis.
Pieter van Oord remarked, “We are thrilled to welcome Oman Air to Amsterdam, establishing a direct route between Amsterdam and Muscat. This connection is a significant step in enhancing the relationship between our two nations and improving travel options for passengers in both directions. I am confident that this link will be mutually beneficial for both countries.”
The Amsterdam route will be the first new addition following Oman Air's membership in the oneworld Alliance, which will provide advantages such as access to the oneworld Lounge at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol for Business Class, oneworld Emerald & Sapphire, and Sindbad Gold & Silver members.
Initially operating during the summer season, the Muscat-Amsterdam service will utilize the latest B787-9 aircraft. Passengers will benefit from seamless connectivity to Muscat and over 40 additional destinations, including Thailand, Zanzibar, Indonesia, India, and Malaysia, while enjoying Oman Air’s award-winning service and renowned Omani hospitality for an unforgettable experience.
