A delegation from the Oman Human Rights Commission (OHRC), headed by Prof. Rashid Hamed Al Balushi, Chairperson of the Commission, along with members of the Coordinating Committee for Justice and Coordination Affairs, paid a visit to Sumail Central Prison.
The purpose of this visit was to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of diversity within the General Administration of Prisons, with a focus on the implementation of programs for the rehabilitation of young inmates.
During the visit, the guests were briefed on the various support, health, and social services provided within the prison, as well as the correctional programs available for offenders.
This visit was carried out as part of the committee's responsibilities outlined in Article 11 of the system, which includes conducting on-site visits to prisons and detention centers, as well as fostering collaboration and engagement.
