Muscat: The Muscat Music and Art Academy has successfully wrapped up its 2025 summer programme at the National Museum, a two-month initiative that engaged 32 trainees.
The closing ceremony took place under the patronage of Jamal Hassan Al Moosawi, Secretary-General of the National Museum, and was attended by officials, parents of the trainees, and individuals interested in music and the arts.
Yahya Abdullah Al Dhanki, Director of the Muscat Music and Art Academy, remarked that the event marked the conclusion of a comprehensive summer programme. The curriculum featured a variety of theoretical and practical music lectures, alongside workshops and training activities aimed at enhancing the skills of the participants. The director emphasized that these initiatives helped to reinforce cultural identity and safeguard Omani musical traditions.
Al Dhanki further mentioned that the programme is part of the academy's larger mission to promote collaboration with both public and private sectors associated with music and the arts. This initiative also plays a role in advancing Oman's cultural and artistic landscape. The academy is dedicated to establishing and supporting educational platforms that cultivate emerging talent and offer opportunities for expression and creativity within a comprehensive learning environment.
The annual programme is tailored to foster creativity and innovation in children aged three and older, while also building their self-confidence through musical and artistic performances. Additionally, it serves as a venue for young talents to present their skills to the public, connecting the arts with national cultural institutions to enhance identity and a sense of belonging.
