ROHM Presents Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone Concert

Muscat: On April 10 and 11, the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra presented Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in Concert, part of the Harry Potter Film Concert Series.

Under the baton of Ernst Van Tiel, the orchestra performed every note from the film live, synchronized with the visuals on a 40-foot screen. Audiences experienced the enchanting story in high-definition while enjoying John Williams’ iconic score played live by the orchestra.

The Harry Potter Film Concert Series, created by Discovery Global Experiences and Cine Concerts, is the only official global concert tour dedicated to celebrating the Harry Potter films.

Since the inaugural performance of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in Concert in 2016, over 3 million fans have participated in this magical experience, which is set to feature more than 2,973 performances across 48 countries by 2025.

Umberto Fanni, Director General of the Royal Opera House Muscat, expressed his excitement about the concert, stating, “It has been a thrilling privilege to present this concert to audiences in Oman. The Royal Opera House Muscat is dedicated to fostering a love of music across generations, and this concert exemplifies the ability of music to connect people of all ages.”

In Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, young Harry discovers on his 11th birthday that he is the orphaned child of two wizards and has magical abilities. At Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, he learns to play Quidditch and engages in a thrilling game of chess as he confronts a Dark Wizard intent on his destruction.

Justin Freer, the President of Cine Concerts and the Producer/Conductor of the Harry Potter Film Concert Series, states, “The Harry Potter film series represents a unique cultural milestone that continues to enchant millions of fans globally.

“We are thrilled to offer fans, for the very first time, the chance to experience the award-winning musical scores performed live by a symphony orchestra, while the cherished film is projected on the big screen. This promises to be an extraordinary event.”

Brady Beaubien from Cine Concerts, who serves as the Concert Producer for the Harry Potter Film Concert Series, remarked, “Harry Potter is a name that evokes excitement worldwide, and we hope that by presenting this remarkable music alongside the full movie, audiences will keep celebrating the magic of the wizarding world.”
