Ministry Of Housing, Tawoos Group Forge Historic Relationship

Tawoos Group has embarked on a groundbreaking initiative in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning (MoHUP) to lead the development and construction of innovative mixed-use towers within the highly anticipated Al Khuwair Downtown project, shaping the future of urban development in Oman.

The first mixed-use towers to be constructed by Tawoos will serve as a beacon for the Al Khuwair Downtown project, covering a 12,000 sqm site with a total GFA of 60,000 sqm, encompassing offices, residential spaces, and retail outlets.

This project plays a crucial role in Oman's National Spatial Strategy (ONSS), aligning with Oman Vision 2040 and emphasizing the importance of strategic planning for new developments and infrastructure to leverage opportunities while safeguarding the nation's natural heritage. The innovative project is strategically designed to manage urban expansion, enhance infrastructure services, and foster vibrant, inclusive communities.

Dr. Khalfan Said Al Shuaili, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, highlighted the significance of this collaboration, stating, "The partnership between MoHUP and Tawoos Group represents a milestone in Oman's urban development. By combining our vision with Tawoos Group's goals, we are establishing new benchmarks for sustainable, architecturally excellent, and community-focused urban development."

Zaha Hadid Architects, a renowned architectural firm founded by the late Zaha Hadid, has been entrusted with designing the master plan for the Al Khuwair Downtown district, ushering in a new era of transformative urban design.

Samir Fancy, Chairman of Tawoos Group, remarked, "As the saying goes, we shape our buildings, and thereafter they shape us."

The mixed-use towers developed by Tawoos Group are set to revolutionize the landscape of commercial, residential, and retail spaces, offering a unique and tailored experience to meet a variety of needs and preferences.

HH Sayyid Tarik bin Shabib Al Said, Director of Tawoos Group, expressed, “We commend MoHUP for their forward-thinking vision and reaching this significant milestone in line with Oman Vision 2040. Tawoos is proud to be a part of this exceptional project. These towers will be cutting-edge, sustainable, and in line with green building standards, attracting both local and international investments to position Oman as a vibrant and progressive hub.”

Ibrahim Waili, Executive Director of Oman National Spatial Strategy (ONSS) at MoHUP, a key figure in laying the foundation for the project, stated, “Through ONSS, Oman is looking towards a future where infrastructure investments enhance quality of life, economic growth, and environmental sustainability. We are confident in the partnerships we have established and optimistic about realizing the government's vision.”
