Meteorology Warns Of Thunderstorms, Reduced Visibility In Several Parts Of Oman

Muscat: The Oman Meteorological Department has issued a cautionary notice regarding the potential for thunderstorms and robust winds across various regions of the nation on Wednesday, August 14th.

It is anticipated that thunderstorms, accompanied by rainfall ranging from 20 to 30 millimeters, will be observed in Al Dakhiliyah, Al Dhahirah, and the North Al Sharqiyah governorates.

Furthermore, the presence of strong winds, measured in knots ranging from 15 to 35, may result in flash floods within valleys and diminished visibility.

Conversely, the descent of winds in the Al Hajar Mountains and the Dhofar Governorate could precipitate dust storms and the scattering of debris through the air.

Individuals residing in these areas are advised to exercise caution due to the potential for flash floods, reduced visibility, and the threat of airborne debris. It is recommended that outdoor activities be postponed until the weather conditions improve, and that adherence to the directives issued by local authorities is strictly followed.
