Temperatures Soar To 48°C In Oman; Health Warnings Issued

Muscat: Nizwa and Adam stations in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate recorded the highest temperature in the Sultanate of Oman, at 48 degrees Celsius.

According to Oman Meteorology, the Nizwa and Adam stations recorded temperatures of 48 degrees Celsius, followed by Al Qabil and Mahout stations, which recorded temperatures of 47 degrees Celsius.

To prevent heat stroke, avoid direct sunlight in the afternoon, when temperatures are highest.

Heatstroke, heat exhaustion, and other heat-related ailments are prevalent, particularly because many occupations and field activities need workers to be exposed to sunlight and high temperatures. To prevent and reduce heatstroke, it is advised:

Regulate and define working hours to include pauses during peak temperatures.

Avoid direct sunlight, particularly in the afternoon.

Drink enough water to prevent dehydration.

It is advisable to train employees and supervisors on how to respond to heat strokes.
