Muscat: The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs (MERA) has issued a call to action for citizens and residents to diligently investigate the sighting of the crescent of Dhul-Hijjah on Thursday, June 6, 2024.
According to a statement from the Oman News Agency (ONA), the main committee responsible for verifying the sighting of the crescent for the month of Dhul-Hijjah in the year 1445 AH will convene tomorrow evening, Thursday, at the General Office of the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs. The committee has urged both citizens and residents to actively participate in the search for the crescent.
If the sighting of the Dhul-Hijjah moon is confirmed tomorrow, the first day of Eid Al Adha will be observed on Sunday, June 16, 2024. However, if the crescent is not sighted, then Monday, June 17, 2024 will mark the beginning of Eid Al Adha.
