Al Jabal Al Akhdar: On Thursday, Sheikh Hilal Said Al Hajri, Governor of Al Dakhiliyah, presided over a meeting in the Wilayat of Al Jabal Al Akhdar in the A'Dakhiliyah Governorate.
Sheikh Sultan Mansour Al Ghaithy, the Wali of Al Jabal Al Akhdar, and Masoud Sulaiman Al Azri, the Director General of Agricultural and Fisheries Marketing at the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources, attended the conference.
The meeting examined the basic idea for an investment program that the Ministry plans to carry out in the province. The project has several amenities, the most noteworthy of which are a Honey Museum with halls dedicated to the history of Omani bees, a sorting unit, a scientific laboratory, and an environmental corner, among other service facilities.
The project also includes a local rose farm, a rosewater distillation plant with an interactive viewing window, a separate space for workshops, and a shop selling rose-themed items, among other service facilities.
Furthermore, the project will include an olive farm and a public park that showcase integrated ecotourism and agricultural ideas. These facilities will be constructed using a company investment model in collaboration with the private sector.
During the meeting, a joint technical team was established, including personnel from the Al Dakhiliyah Governorate as well as the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources. This team will be tasked with researching the execution of various projects for rainwater harvesting and the maintenance of agricultural terraces, with the goal of increasing water resource efficiency and protecting the heritage of mountain agriculture.
Following the meeting, the Governor of Al Dakhiliyah paid a field trip to various agricultural regions throughout the wilayat.
