Muscat: On Wednesday, the Ministry of Information, through the Government Communication Centre, hosted the 24th meeting of communication and media departments in government institutions.
During the meeting, the Government Communication Centre and various government units discussed strategic projects, events, and topics that have been undertaken in collaboration over the past few months.
The participants delved into a comprehensive examination of internal communication, focusing on strategies to enhance its professional implementation within government units and the significance of its application in each institution. They also reviewed the standard measures of internal communication and its impact on improving productivity in the workplace.
The meeting placed great emphasis on fostering a sense of belonging to the institution, exchanging experiences, strengthening relationships between employees and leaders, and addressing any rumors or misleading news that may target their respective institutions.
Furthermore, the meeting explored methods of decision-making that take into account the opinions of all stakeholders, as well as ways to enhance employee satisfaction and promote transparency.
The Government Communication Centre also showcased successful models of internal communication that have been implemented in various government units. One notable example was the Media Communication Centre at the Foreign Ministry, which was presented by First Secretary Isma Karim Al Balushi.
During her presentation, Isma provided an analysis of the work environment at the Foreign Ministry. She discussed the channels utilized to activate internal communication and highlighted the importance of implementing a well-structured internal communication plan that focuses on measurable performance indicators.
