Muscat: The inaugural "Marhaba Dhofar" event, meticulously organized by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, is poised to commence on Monday, September 16, 2024, welcoming key stakeholders from the tourism sector from both the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
This event, spanning multiple days, will serve as a platform for the participation of 40 Saudi tourism enterprises and 13 distinguished media professionals from esteemed Saudi institutions. The attendees will engage in guided excursions to some of Dhofar's most renowned tourist destinations, including the picturesque beaches of Salalah, the verdant mountains, and the region's rich heritage and archaeological sites, which epitomize the depth of Omani history and civilization.
The primary objective of "Marhaba Dhofar" is to enhance tourism cooperation between Oman and Saudi Arabia. This event aims to highlight the unique offerings of Dhofar Governorate, such as the "Sarb" season and winter tourism. It is in alignment with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism's strategy to strengthen ties with regional tourism markets and to showcase the diverse experiences that Oman has to offer to international visitors.
Furthermore, the event will include discussion sessions and bilateral meetings between Omani and Saudi tourism enterprises, thereby facilitating the exchange of knowledge and the exploration of collaborative opportunities to further enhance the tourism sector.
Participants will also have the opportunity to discover Oman's burgeoning reputation as a destination that caters to adventure, relaxation, and conference and exhibition tourism.
