London-Bound Air India Flight Returns To Mumbai After Three Hours In Air

India: On Friday, June 13, 2025, an Air India flight (AIC129) from Mumbai to London returned to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport after about three hours in the air.

According to Air India, the flight's return was a precautionary measure in light of the developing scenario in Iran and the subsequent closure of Iranian airspace. This decision was made to protect passengers' safety in light of rising tensions between Israel and Iran.

This incident is part of a bigger sequence of diversions and returns of several Air India international flights impacted by airspace limitations in Iran. Air India has apologized for the inconvenience caused to passengers and is working to reduce disruptions by offering lodging, refunds for cancellations, and complimentary rescheduling choices.
