Oman Air Achieves Over Threefold Increase In Point-to-Point Traffic, Reaching An Unprecedented 58% Of Total Passengers As It Continues To Drive Oman’s Tourism Growth

Muscat: Oman Air has accomplished a major milestone, with point-to-point passenger numbers virtually tripling – from 75,000 in June 2024 to 200,000 in June 2025 alone. Point-to-point traffic, which passengers fly directly into Oman rather than connecting onward, currently accounts for 58% of the airline's total flight loads, nearly double that of any other Gulf airline. The news represents a major milestone in Oman Air's approach to boost inbound tourism to Oman and help national economic goals.

According to Oman Air's Chief Commercial Officer, Mike Rutter, "A key pillar of our strategy is to increase point-to-point traffic, not just by adding more flights, but by ensuring that each flight brings more visitors directly to the country. " Our success is the direct result of methodical path planning, focused marketing, and a network approach that prioritises consistent demand above ambition. Our method not only promotes national tourism goals, but also increases the airline's revenue performance, allowing us to establish new routes sustainably. We continue committed to making travel to Oman both accessible and appealing, while delivering on our commitment to be an engine for Oman's tourism development.

Oman Air is still committed to growing its route network, updating its fleet, and providing excellent service in order to preserve regional leadership and provide an outstanding experience for its clients. The airline's most recent network growth includes Amsterdam, which provides direct access to the high-value Benelux market, and the reintroduction of double-daily flights on its popular London route, beginning in October 2025. Meanwhile, as the oneworld Alliance's newest member, it provides seamless connectivity between Oman and over 700 nations and territories throughout the world, including new markets such as Japan, Australia, and North America. As Oman continues to invest in tourism infrastructure, Oman Air's targeted strategy is critical in attracting visitors, generating tourism revenue, and defining the country's worldwide image.
