Khasab: The Musandam Governorate, in conjunction with other regions, is preparing to welcome visitors during the winter season, spanning from November 2024 to April 2025.
The Musandam Governorate has captured the interest of tourists globally, thanks to its distinctive archaeological, tourist, and natural wonders.
Tourists are in for a treat, with opportunities to partake in marine and terrestrial sports, adventure tourism, mountain climbing, cave exploration, and enjoy the beaches and marine areas ideal for rowing and diving.
The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has reported that during the preceding winter season (November 2023 – April 2024), the governorate received a total of 68,243 tourists from various GCC, Arab, European, and Asian nations, who arrived via cruise ships.
Director of Heritage and Tourism in the Governorate of Musandam, Salah Mohammed Al Farsi, disclosed that the governorate saw 21,972 visitors to its historical sites during the same period.
He further emphasized the collaborative efforts between the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and various public and private entities aimed at promoting the natural tourism potential of the governorate. These initiatives also focus on showcasing the governorate's rich history, highlighted by its castles, forts, and other historical structures.
Al Farsi also mentioned that the governorate is home to 10 hotel establishments, strategically located across the wilayats: 7 hotels in the Wilayat of Khasab, each with 365 rooms, and 3 hotels in the Wilayat of Daba, each boasting 128 rooms.
