International Media Delegation Visits Musandam, Views Its Natural, Cultural Landmarks

The Ministry of Information has arranged a four-day tour of the Musandam Governorate for 26 media professionals from 16 media organizations across 10 countries, showcasing the region's rich cultural, historical, and natural diversity.

Scheduled from February 17 to 20, this tour is part of a broader media initiative aimed at documenting the Sultanate of Oman’s significant civilizational and historical sites, as well as its economic and social advancements.

In collaboration with the Musandam Governor's Office, the media group visited key landmarks within the governorate, gaining insights into its economic, investment, and tourism potential.

Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said Al Busaidi, the Governor of Musandam, welcomed the media delegation and delivered an in-depth presentation detailing the governorate’s strategic vision for future growth and development. He informed the delegation about key projects and initiatives designed to bolster Musandam’s status as a prime investment and tourism hub.

The presentation emphasized Musandam’s strategic location as the gateway to the Arabian Gulf and its significance as a vital global maritime navigation point along the Strait of Hormuz. The discussion highlighted the governorate’s competitive advantages, including its stunning natural landscapes, diverse marine activities, rich cultural and historical heritage, and a favorable investment climate.

Sayyid Ibrahim underscored that the development initiatives are focused on making Musandam a more attractive destination for investment and tourism. He noted that the transition efforts prioritize environmental sustainability and the integration of development with local communities. He explained that these initiatives, aimed at enhancing economic diversity and attracting high-quality investments, are aligned with Oman Vision 2040.

He informed the media team that these initiatives are anticipated to create new job opportunities, enhance the tourism industry, and improve the quality of services and infrastructure in Musandam, positioning the governorate as a regional hub for growth and prosperity.

The media tour program is set to include the governorates of Al Buraimi and A'Dhahirah.
