Al Jabal Al Akhdar: A range of development initiatives is currently underway in the Wilayat of Jabal Al Akhdar, located in the Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah, primarily focused on enhancing infrastructure and boosting the tourism and service industries.
With an investment exceeding OMR4.5 million, these projects encompass upgrades to the road network, the construction of recreational facilities, and improvements to public services.
Sheikh Hilal Said Al Hajri, the Governor of Al Dakhiliyah, emphasized that these initiatives and strategic plans are designed to elevate the region's status as a promising destination for tourism and investment.
He noted that the construction of the ongoing projects is advancing on schedule, with the Green Mountain Park project currently at a 25 percent completion rate and a budget surpassing OMR1.1 million.
This project aims to create a modern recreational space for visitors, featuring comprehensive facilities that align with the goals of tourism development.
Additionally, he highlighted the governorate's commitment to enhancing the tourism sector, mentioning the successful completion of a project to design and construct internal roads in Jabal Al Akhdar, which cost OMR1.37 million and aims to improve traffic flow within the area.
Work is also progressing on further internal road projects, with an investment of OMR1.4 million and a completion rate of over 10 percent.
He explained that enhancing the road network is vital for improving connectivity between various regions, facilitating the movement of both residents and visitors, and supporting tourism and economic activities.
He stated that the dual carriageway project at the entrance of Jabal Al Akhdar State is approaching the end of its consultancy phase. This initiative involves the refurbishment and enhancement of the main entrance, along with updating engineering design standards to accommodate population growth and urban development.
Sheikh Sultan bin Mansour Al Ghafili, the Wali of Jabal Al Akhdar, remarked that the ambitious development initiatives currently underway in the Wilayat demonstrate the government's dedication to improving infrastructure and public services.
These initiatives encompass the enhancement of the road network and the creation of comprehensive recreational facilities, such as the Wilayat Public Park project, which aims to offer a modern and enjoyable recreational area for everyone, thereby improving the quality of life for residents and enriching the tourism experience.
He noted that collaboration with the Governor's Office has played a crucial role in expediting the execution of these projects and providing essential support.
He stressed that these joint efforts will foster the development of the Wilayat, ensuring sustainable progress and the welfare of its inhabitants.
In an explanation to the Oman News Agency, he highlighted a clear focus on enhancing infrastructure and promoting investment in tourism facilities, alongside organizing cultural and heritage festivals that celebrate the identity of the Green Mountain.
He mentioned that efforts are currently in progress to establish the Green Mountain Park and to implement the Celebrations and Festivals Square project, which is a comprehensive initiative designed to create an organized environment for entrepreneurs and small to medium-sized enterprises, offering all necessary services to support commercial and tourism activities in the Wilayat.

Additionally, work has been underway since the start of this year on the Saih Qatna-Al Hail Road project, which is a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing the internal road network and facilitating the movement of both residents and visitors.
