Indian nationals were the most frequent travelers passing through Muscat International Airport in March, with 79,810 arrivals and 77,646 departures. Following closely were Bangladeshi nationals with 14,469 arrivals and 20,909 departures, and Pakistani nationals with 24,097 arrivals and 20,191 departures, as reported by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
The total number of passengers passing through airports in Oman saw a 16.8 percent increase by the end of March 2024, totaling 3,840,354 passengers compared to 3,287,015 passengers in March 2023.
Preliminary data from NCSI indicated that Muscat International Airport alone served 3,482,325 passengers, marking a 17.7 percent increase. These passengers were accommodated on 25,204 flights, representing a 13.8 percent rise by March 2024.
Of these flights, 23,237 were international flights carrying 3,232,076 passengers, while 1,967 were domestic flights with 250,249 passengers.
Salalah Airport saw 325,035 passengers, a 6.7 percent increase, traveling on 2,288 flights, up by 4.8 percent. International flights at Salalah Airport numbered 1,218, carrying 162,651 passengers, while domestic flights were 1,070, carrying 162,384 passengers.
Sohar Airport served 17,462 passengers on 154 flights, while Duqm Airport saw 15,532 passengers on 156 flights.
