The University of Technology and Applied Sciences Sur's public relations students are currently organizing an awareness-raising event called 'Horizons' centered around employment opportunities in the tourism industry. This event will take place today (Friday) at Al Sunaysla Fort in Sur.
The event will be graced by the presence of Abdullah bin Rashid al Hajri, the Director of the Department of Heritage and Tourism in Al Sharqiyah South Governorate, and Dr Rashid bin Nasser al Matani, the Assistant Vice-Chancellor of the university. It is a part of an ongoing awareness campaign called 'Legacy' that aims to promote the tourism potential of Sur.
During the event, there will be an informative session conducted by experts, focusing on employment and entrepreneurship prospects within the tourism sector. This session will provide valuable insights for individuals seeking job opportunities. Additionally, there will be an art exhibition featuring the works of local fine artists, a photo exhibition, display areas for heritage artifacts, and stalls for home businesses.
Artist Said bin Ali al Alawi has expressed his eagerness to participate in the exhibition, emphasizing the importance of educating the community about the tourism potential of the wilayat. He hopes to highlight the diverse opportunities in the governorate, including its heritage areas, places of interest, and cultural events.
Malak al Dalhami, a member of the organizing committee, expressed her gratitude for being part of this event that combines art, history, and job opportunities in the tourism sector. The event aims to expand knowledge about the Wilayat of Sur and its talented artists. Through this campaign, they aim to enhance awareness of the tourist, cultural, and historical landmarks of Sur.
The legacy campaign was launched on March 19th with the goal of promoting Sur's tourism prospects. It includes various activities that contribute to the governorate's initiatives in positioning Sur as the capital of Arab tourism for the year 2024.
