Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has received a formal communication from President Rumen Radev of the Republic of Bulgaria. This correspondence addresses the bilateral relations between the Sultanate of Oman and Bulgaria.
The message was delivered to Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, the Foreign Minister, during a meeting today with Georg Georgiev, the Bulgarian Minister of Foreign Affairs, in his office.
The discussion focused on the existing bilateral relations and explored avenues for their enhancement across various sectors.
During the meeting, the Bulgarian Minister expressed gratitude for Oman's humanitarian and diplomatic contributions towards promoting peace and regional stability. He commended Oman’s proactive initiatives, particularly its recent efforts to facilitate the release of the crew from the "Galaxy Leader" ship, which included several Bulgarian nationals.
In response, Sayyid Badr emphasized the importance of diplomacy rooted in dialogue and mutual trust for fostering regional and international stability. He stated, “The Sultanate of Oman is committed to the belief that effective dialogue and constructive diplomacy are essential for achieving peace and enhancing understanding among nations and peoples.”
The two ministers also deliberated on regional and international developments, exchanging perspectives on these matters. They reaffirmed that both Oman and Bulgaria advocate for peaceful resolutions to conflicts, aiming to uphold security and stability while promoting harmony among nations and peoples.
The meeting was attended by officials from both countries.
