‘Hidden Nature: Pictures Of Omani Wildlife’ Exhibition Opens In Muscat

The Omani Society for Fine Arts, on behalf of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, inaugurated an art exhibition titled "Hidden Nature: Pictures of Omani Wildlife" on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. The event took place at the headquarters of the Omani Society for Fine Arts in Muscat Governorate, under the patronage of His Excellency Azzan bin Qasim Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Tourism.

Featuring the work of 7 Omani photographers who specialize in wildlife photography, the exhibition showcases 51 artistic paintings centered around two themes: "insects" and "reptiles". Each painting is accompanied by the scientific names of the depicted species, as registered in scientific institutions within the Sultanate of Oman.

Over the course of two weeks, the exhibition will host various activities and involve multiple stakeholders. Visitors will have the opportunity to observe live specimens, attend research paper presentations on wildlife, and participate in lectures on Omani snakes, where Ahmed Al Busaidi will explain their different types and methods of handling them. Additionally, a practical workshop on close-up photography will be conducted by a group of photographers, providing valuable insights for enthusiasts in the field.
