During the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) expo in Dubai, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism unveiled the tourism packages for the Wilayat of Sur, which is set to be the Capital of Arab Tourism in 2024.
Dr. Walid Ali El Hennawy, Assistant Secretary-General for Events and Media at the Arab Tourism Organization, expressed optimism about the potential of Wilayat of Sur to become a prominent destination for both Arab and international tourists. He highlighted the diverse marine and environmental tourism attractions in the wilayat.
Dr. El Hennawy noted that cities awarded the title of “Arab Tourism Capital” typically experience a significant increase of over 50 percent in tourist arrivals.
Sajda Rashid Al Ghaithi, Director of the Tourism Marketing Department at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, announced the tourism packages developed in collaboration with the national travel operator “Visit Oman.” These packages will be accessible through the “Visit Oman” promotional website.
Moreover, during the expo, “Visit Oman” and Oman Airports inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Emirates airlines to boost tourism packages for the Sultanate of Oman across the airline’s global network during the ATM.
