Goa Tourism Invites Travellers From Oman To Discover Its Vibrant Culture

Muscat: Goa Tourism successfully hosted a dynamic roadshow in Muscat, Oman, reaffirming its dedication to establishing Goa as a leading tourism destination in the Middle East.

This event provided a strategic opportunity to connect with key professionals in the travel industry, including tour operators, media representatives, and potential investors, showcasing Goa’s varied tourism offerings and emerging prospects.

The roadshow was graced by the presence of Shri Kuldeep Arolkar, Managing Director of GTDC, along with prominent figures from Oman’s travel and hospitality sectors.

Accompanying the Goa Tourism delegation were members of the Travel Trade Association, led by TTAG President Shri Jack Sukhija, which included charter operators, hoteliers, and travel agents.

The event featured an interactive networking session where discussions focused on innovative tourism initiatives, such as regenerative tourism, eco-tourism circuits, and the promotion of niche markets like wellness tourism, adventure tourism, and cultural heritage experiences. Smt. Tavishi Bahl, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of India in Muscat, delivered warm remarks, emphasizing the strengthening tourism and cultural connections between Goa and Oman.

In his remarks about the roadshow, Hon’ble Tourism Minister Shri Rohan A. Khaunte stated, “Goa is transforming beyond its beaches to provide a rich and diverse tourism experience — from the tranquil allure of our hinterlands and spiritual circuits to top-notch infrastructure for MICE tourism. This roadshow in Oman aims to enhance our relationship with the Middle Eastern market, inviting travelers and businesses to explore Goa’s vibrant culture, natural beauty, and its potential as a comprehensive tourism destination.”

Emphasizing the significance of the roadshow, Director of Tourism, Shri Kedar Naik remarked, “Goa is establishing itself as a premier global tourism destination, offering a variety of experiences that extend beyond its renowned beaches. The region has long been a cultural crossroads, providing visitors with a unique mix of rich heritage, tranquil landscapes, and engaging experiences. Through targeted international collaborations, we seek to bolster tourism partnerships, improve connectivity, and demonstrate our dedication to regenerative and sustainable tourism.”

In his keynote address, Managing Director of GTDC, Shri Kuldeep Arolkar, underscored Goa’s status as a top-tier tourism destination and outlined new initiatives under the Regenerative Tourism model. “Oman represents a key market for Goa, and we are dedicated to enhancing tourism cooperation between our regions. This roadshow has served as an excellent platform for building strategic partnerships, improving connectivity, and presenting new travel experiences that appeal to international travelers. The feedback from Oman’s travel trade community has been exceptionally positive. We eagerly anticipate welcoming more visitors from Oman and collaborating closely with stakeholders to develop tailored experiences that highlight Goa’s rich cultural and natural heritage.”
