Foreign Minister Holds Talks With Algerian Minister Of Foreign Affairs

Algeria: Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, the Foreign Minister, and Ahmed Attaf, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, recently engaged in political talks during the official visit of the former to Algeria.

During the meeting, both sides emphasized the significance of collaborating to advance their shared interests. They deliberated on strategies for coordination in preparation for the upcoming session of the Omani-Algerian Joint Committee, which is scheduled to take place in Algeria later this year.

Furthermore, they exchanged perspectives on regional and international matters of mutual concern and explored ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in order to address the current challenges effectively.

The two ministers expressed their countries' support for the ongoing efforts to de-escalate the situation and achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, with the ultimate goal of ending all acts of violence. They emphasized the necessity of reaching an agreement to prevent further loss of civilian lives, facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to the people in Gaza, create favorable conditions for the return of displaced Palestinians to their homes, and secure the release of detainees and prisoners.

Additionally, both sides underscored the importance of adhering to international law and called upon the international community to fulfill its responsibilities by recognizing the State of Palestine. They also urged for concerted efforts to convene an international peace conference in response to the global community's desire for a resolution. The ministers emphasized the implementation of the Two-State Solution and the cessation of Israeli occupation in Palestinian territories.
