Embassy Of India In Muscat Commemorates The 75th Republic Day With Grand Gala Reception

Muscat: In celebration of India's 75th Republic Day, H.E Amit Narang, Ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman, hosted a National Day Reception on January 28, 2024, at the Embassy of India in Muscat. The event was graced by the presence of His Excellency Qais Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion of the Sultanate of Oman, who attended as the Chief Guest.

The reception was attended by distinguished guests including H.E Khalid Almuslahi, Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Foreign Ministry; H.E Pankaj Khimji, Advisor for Foreign Trade and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion; H.E Faisal bin Abdullah bin Saeed Al-Rawas, Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI); Members of Majlis Dawla and Majlis Shura; senior government officials; Ambassadors residing in Muscat, as well as prominent members of the Omani and Indian community.

During the event, H.E Sayyid Nasr Albusaidi, Postmaster of Oman, and H.E Amit Narang, along with the Chief Guest of the day, unveiled a replica of the joint commemorative postage stamp that was released during the State Visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to India in December 2023.

In his address to the gathering, Ambassador Amit Narang referred to India as 'VISHWA MITRA.' He emphasized India's significant role on the global stage, highlighting its qualities of youthful energy, innovation, inclusivity, and rapid growth, which have made India an indispensable force for global good.

The event also showcased a beautifully curated collaboration between Indian and Omani artists. Ms. Aishwarya Hegde and her team mesmerized the audience with their performance of the traditional Indian dance form, Odissi, accompanied by the enchanting melodies of "Vande Mataram" played by the Omani musical group known as "Scales Ensemble," led by Yousef Al Foori. The "Scales Ensemble" further captivated the attendees with their harmonious renditions of various Indian melodies.

To enhance the festive ambiance, a wide range of delectable Indian delicacies were served, taking the guests on a gastronomic journey through India's rich culinary heritage. Moreover, the event also featured 'Selfie with India' corners, where attendees had the opportunity to capture unforgettable moments against the backdrop of India's cultural and scientific landmarks.
