Al-Mudhaibi: The completion rate for Nama Water Services' water network project in Wadi Andam villages in Al Mudhaibi, North A'Sharqiyah Governorate, has topped 93%, with a total cost of RO 3,668,000.
According to Eng. Awad Khamis Al Shibli, Project Manager at Nama Water Services, the Wadi Andam water network project involves expanding the existing Khadra Bani Dafaa pumping station in AlHabat community and building three new fiberglass tanks, each with a capacity of 90 cubic meters.
He further stated that two booster pumping stations will be built in the communities of Al-Washal and Al-Fulaij, as well as water connections for nine settlements in Wadi Andam.
He told Oman News Agency (ONA) that the pipeline extension for the two-year project spans approximately 102 kilometers. Excavation work has been completed for approximately 101 kilometers, with pipes placed over 99. -35 kilometers and backfilling operations ongoing. The full project is expected to be finished in the third quarter of this year.
Meanwhile, the second phase of the drinking water distribution network project is ongoing in the wilayat and will cost RO 15,132,000. It is projected to be finished by 2027. This phase comprises a 40-kilometer transmission pipeline, a 217-kilometer distribution network, 4,065 household connections, a pumping station, and an elevated tank.
Notably, Nama Water Services is planning to begin a water network project in the wilayats of Damaa and Al-Ta'eeeen. The 36-month project will include a 77. 85 km water transmission pipeline connecting Al-Jarda in Al-Mudhaibi to Mahlah in Damaa and AlTa'eeeen, seven distribution tanks with storage capacities ranging from 3,000 to 10,000 cubic meters, and two pumping stations in the Al-Jarda and Al-Rahba regions.
