Commerce Minister Receives Iranian Official

Muscat: Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, welcomed Syed Mohammad Atabek, the Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade from the Islamic Republic of Iran, today.

This meeting was part of the ongoing discussions within the framework of the Joint Oman-Iran Committee.

During their discussions, both parties explored ways to strengthen trade relations between Oman and Iran, as well as strategies to attract additional investments across various promising sectors. They emphasized the significance of enhancing bilateral relations, trade exchanges, and economic collaboration.

Additionally, the two ministers reviewed the draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at fostering cooperation in exhibitions, along with a draft agreement focused on encouraging and safeguarding mutual investments between the two nations, and a draft agreement concerning customs cooperation.

The meeting was attended by Ibrahim Ahmed Al Muaini, the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Iran, Mousa Farhang, the Ambassador of Iran to Oman, and several officials from both delegations.
