Muscat: Salam Air, the budget airline of Oman, has announced the suspension of its flights to Dhaka and Chittagong in response to directives issued by the government of Bangladesh.
In a press release to the Times of Oman, Salam Air clarified that flights OV 497 from Muscat to Dhaka, originally scheduled for departure on August 5th at 22:10, and flight OV 401 from Muscat to Chattogram (Chittagong), initially planned for August 6th at 01:05, have been cancelled in accordance with the directives from the authorities of Bangladesh.
"We acknowledge the inconvenience this may cause to our passengers and are actively working to offer alternative travel arrangements and provide necessary support to those affected by this cancellation," the statement read.
Air India
In light of the escalating public unrest in Bangladesh, Air India has announced the immediate suspension of all flight operations to and from the country.
"Given the current situation in Bangladesh, we have decided to cancel all flights to and from Dhaka at this time. We are closely monitoring the developments and are committed to supporting our passengers who have confirmed bookings for travel to and from Dhaka. We are offering a one-time waiver on rescheduling and cancellation charges, with the safety of our guests and crew being our top priority," the airline stated on its website.
