Bidders Invited To Prequalify For PDO’s Manazil Project

Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) has issued an invitation to prequalify for its tender regarding the implementation of the Manazil Project. This project aims to enhance the accommodation and welfare facilities for both company and contractual staff within its Block 6 concession. The purpose of the prequalification exercise is to assess the capabilities of potential bidders in carrying out the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) of a series of PDO camps located in interior areas of the concession.

The Manazil Project comprises two programs. The first program focuses on the design and construction of four new camps at Fahud, Marmul, Harweel, and Amal, which will cater to approximately 900 staff members. The second program involves the upgrade of seven existing PDO camps at Lekhwair, Yibal, Saih Rawl, Nimr, Bahja, Qarn Alam, and Rima, catering to around 1,200 staff members.

The greenfield camps will be required to include various essential elements, such as catering facilities, recreational areas with multi-use courts for sports like football and cricket, a swimming pool and gym, as well as community amenities like a supermarket, ATM, and post office.

The deadline for interested bidders to submit their prequalification documents is June 24, 2024.

The Manazil Project, introduced in 2019 by PDO, aims to revolutionize the management and quality of staff accommodation at interior sites within the company's concession area. This initiative focuses on an integrated and fully outsourced accommodation strategy that will commence in 2024. The objective is to develop facilities for more than 30,000 individuals across 11 hubs and one satellite location.

According to a company report, the Manazil project represents the future of accommodation solutions, aiming to transition from the current fragmented approach to a fully integrated and standardized model within the Interior. The primary goal is to establish uniform accommodation and facilities throughout the concession area, creating an optimal, healthy, pleasant, friendly, and sustainable environment for all Interior PDO and contractor staff. This includes providing nutritious food, improving sleep quality, offering recreational activities, and promoting safety. The implementation of this project will ensure consistent worker welfare standards across all interior accommodation facilities.
