A ceremony took place on Monday to mark the commencement of construction for Bandar Al Khairan Resort in Muscat. The resort, which spans an area of 189,000 sqm, is being developed at a cost of OMR36 million. It is envisioned as a valuable addition to the tourism industry in Oman, designed to meet the expectations of both guests and residents.
The resort will feature 121 hotel rooms, along with a range of amenities such as restaurants, spas, and gyms. Salim Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, the Minister of Heritage and Tourism, presided over the inauguration event and emphasized the project's significance in supporting Muscat's tourism sector.
Al Mahrouqi further stated that the Ministry will closely monitor the project's progress to ensure it generates local value and creates employment opportunities for Omani youth. The resort will adhere to the technical and engineering standards required for such establishments, fostering community engagement and partnership.
Moreover, the project will serve as a platform for small and medium enterprises in Al Khairan and neighboring areas to showcase their products and services. By offering 200 job opportunities, the resort aims to employ skilled Omani individuals, with a target Omanisation rate of 30 percent in the initial phase.
