The Main Military Committee for Managing Emergency Situations in the Sultan’s Armed Forces has affirmed its complete readiness to address the anticipated weather conditions impacting the Sultanate of Oman.
During today's session, the committee, led by Brigadier General Hamid bin Abdullah Al Balushi, Assistant Chief of Staff of the Royal Armed Forces for Operations and Planning, reviewed the latest developments in the weather situation. Members representing the Chief of Staff were also present at the meeting.
The Royal Armed Forces, Royal Guard of Oman, Royal Special Force, Engineering Services of the Ministry of Defence, National Survey Authority, and Medical Services of the Armed Forces are all prepared to utilize their resources to manage the weather conditions effectively and extend support to government agencies and other sectors as outlined in the National Emergency Management Committee’s plan.
Furthermore, the committee was briefed on the preparations and actions taken following the announcement of the weather situation (Al-Ikram Groove). Military subcommittees in the affected governorates have been activated, and the readiness of all formations and bases, including the Royal Armed Forces and other Ministry of Defense departments, has been assessed to provide necessary support to citizens and residents based on the situation's demands.
The Emergency Management Main Military Committee affirms its ongoing monitoring of weather conditions and the complete preparedness of all deployed formations and units in the field, as per the requirements and updates provided by the National Committee for Emergency Management's plan.
