Muscat: In alignment with its enduring dedication to the promotion of Khareef Dhofar and the support of national interests, Oman Air has implemented a series of strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing connectivity to Salalah.
To maximize its operational capacity, the airline has increased its daily flight schedule to as many as 11 flights during peak periods. Additionally, a number of flights have been upgraded to accommodate wide-body aircraft, thereby adding approximately 4,500 seats throughout the season.
During the month of July, Oman Air welcomed nearly 50,000 guests to the city, with more than 70% opting for fixed national fare tickets.
"During the Khareef season, Salalah stands as one of the most cherished tourist destinations in Oman. As a pivotal sector, we are committed to supporting and promoting it in alignment with national objectives. This season, we have deployed our maximum capacity to meet the demand and offer the highest frequency of flights compared to other airlines," stated Mike Rutter, the Chief Commercial Officer of Oman Air.
"Moreover, to facilitate Omani citizens and ensure that travel between Muscat and Salalah remains both economical and accessible, we are providing consistent and transparent pricing through our year-round fixed fares. This pricing strategy enables a broader segment of the population to reconnect with family and friends or explore the country's natural beauty without the burden of fluctuating fares," he added.
The fixed national fare, priced at RO 54 return during the Khareef season and RO 64 for the remainder of the year, is exclusively available through the airline's website and mobile application. Although there is no cap on the allocation of Omani national fares, seats are in high demand, and guests are encouraged to book in advance to secure their seats. The airline also offers competitive fares for non-Omani travelers.
