Moscow: The number of Russian tourists visiting the Sultanate of Oman has seen a significant increase of approximately 300 percent. In 2023, a total of 53,145 Russian tourists visited Oman, compared to around 13,000 tourists in 2022.
To further promote tourism between the two countries, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism of the Russian Federation has organized promotional workshops in Moscow and St. Petersburg. These workshops, which will span over two days, aim to showcase the key attractions and experiences offered by Oman. Additionally, they seek to strengthen the presence of Omani tourism companies and institutions in the Russian market, while fostering collaboration with Russian tourism companies.
Led by Azzan Qassim Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Tourism, the Omani delegation comprises 20 tourism institutions. The workshops will facilitate bilateral meetings between major hotels, tourism companies, and airlines from Oman, and representatives of prominent tourism companies, tour operators, and travel agents from Russia. The objective is to increase the number of Russian visitors to the Sultanate of Oman.
Azzan Qassim Al Busaidi emphasized that these promotional workshops in Moscow and St. Petersburg aim to introduce the largest and most influential Russian tourism companies to the Omani market. Furthermore, they aim to strengthen the relationship between tourism operators in Oman and the Russian Federation.
He emphasized that the Sultanate of Oman is a versatile destination, renowned for its natural beauty and rich cultural heritage, drawing visitors from all walks of life. The primary objective is to entice more travelers to savor the opulent and varied hospitality in Oman, with the Ministry's active involvement in the Sultanate of Oman's pavilion at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum 2024. The decision to hold promotional workshops in the Russian cities of Moscow and St. Petersburg was made following the successful promotional campaigns and events conducted by the Ministry in key tourist markets worldwide in recent times, and will continue in the future.
These endeavors will be reinforced through extensive promotional initiatives aimed at boosting tourism to the Sultanate of Oman.
It is worth mentioning that hosting promotional workshops outside Oman is a crucial program that plays a significant role in showcasing the key tourism offerings in Oman, focusing on experiences to enhance tourism and fostering connections between Omani tourism entities and international counterparts.
