Muscat: The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth has announced the 2025 edition of the "Youth Initiatives Support Programme." The program includes 61 initiatives that encompass a wide range of activities in culture, health, sports, economics, media, religion, environmental, and entrepreneurship. It serves all segments of society in the Sultanate of Oman's governorates.
Hilal Saif Al Siyabi, Director General of Youth at the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth, stated that the ministry places a particular emphasis on youth initiatives that meet societal needs and align with the goals of Oman Vision 2040, with a focus on innovation, sustainability, and social development.
Al Siyabi went on to say that youth initiatives include community projects or activities that tackle social and developmental concerns in a voluntary, nonprofit manner. He stated that the initiatives represent the spirit of innovation and active citizenship while also respecting Omani cultural traditions.
According to statistics, the Youth Initiatives Support Programme has experienced consistent expansion since its start in 2016, having supported over 600 initiatives that have benefited more than 150,000 young men and women. The program organizers also conducted exhibitions and local events to strengthen the media presence and institutional outreach of their efforts.
The Ministry has created a guide and an integrated electronic system for assessing and developing youth initiatives, with the goal of collaborating with government and private organizations to regulate their objectives and enhance their quality. This represents a strategic plan to evolve these projects from simply voluntary activities to active community institutions.
