In Al Rustaq, the Municipality Department in South Al Batinah has registered a total of 220 winter camps and cabins across various wilayats. Specifically, there are 150 camps in Barka, 54 in Nakhal, 10 in Mussanah, and 6 in Al Rustaq. These camps were established in October 2024 and will remain operational until the end of March this year.
Hilal Ahmed Al Felaiti, the Director of the Municipality in Barka, noted that these camps promote tourism investment and encourage both citizens and residents to discover the diverse attractions within the governorate.
To establish a camp, applicants must be Omani and adhere to the designated area specified in the permit. They are also required to maintain cleanliness and properly dispose of waste in the designated locations, among other regulations.
Yousra bint Yasser Al Mamari, who owns one of the winter camps, emphasized that these camps provide significant benefits to the economy, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and individuals with limited incomes. She highlighted that winter camps play a vital role in boosting tourism in Oman and serve as an additional income source for families and SME owners.
