Wadi Adai Dam Project Kicks Off In Wilayat Of Muttrah

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources initiated the Wadi Adai Dam project in Muttrah to mitigate flood hazards. The construction of the dam, situated along the Wadi Adei valley in Muttrah, Muscat Governorate, incurred an estimated cost of OMR38 million.

Eng. Nasser Mohammed Al Battashi, the Director General of Water Resources Assessment at the Ministry, emphasized the significance of the Wadi Adai dam in safeguarding the targeted areas from rainwater floods. Construction commenced in February 2024 and is projected to be completed by the end of 2026, spanning a duration of 30 months.

Al Battashi elaborated that the dam will have a storage capacity of 23 million cubic meters and will incorporate various monitoring devices to assess groundwater levels, water levels in the lake, silt accumulation, flood current intensity, and other functionalities.
