University Of Technology And Applied Sciences In Al Mussanah Hosts H.E The Chairman Of The Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit

Muscat: On the 22nd of October, 2024, the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Al Mussanah was graced by the presence of His Excellency Dr. Khamis bin Saif bin Hamoud Al Jabri, the esteemed Chairman of the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit. This distinguished gathering was attended by Dr. Saeed Hamad Al-Rubaie, the Vice Chancellor of the University, underscoring the significance of the occasion.

The primary objective of this meeting was to introduce the audience to the vision, pillars, priorities, and strategic objectives of Oman Vision 2040, alongside the national and international performance indicators that underpin these goals.

The proceedings commenced with a keynote address by Dr. Nasser bin Salem Al Baimani, the Assistant Vice-Chancellor of the Al Mussanah Branch, who eloquently articulated the university's commitment to augmenting knowledge to shape strategies that would enhance the education system, scientific research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of instilling values of identity and citizenship, deeply rooted in Islamic teachings and the rich traditions of Oman.

The event was further enriched by a presentation detailing the university's vision, mission, objectives, and academic departments. Following this, His Excellency Dr. Al Jabri delivered a comprehensive briefing on Oman Vision 2040, highlighting the development of a high-quality education system anchored in community partnerships and independent governance. This development encompasses the revision of curricula to reinforce religious values and the Omani identity, sustainable development, and the cultivation of future-oriented skills.

The agenda also included a panel discussion featuring His Excellency, moderated by Dr. Munia bint Mohammed Al Farsi, Deputy Assistant Vice-Chancellor for E-Systems and Student Services, and Mr. Talib bin Hamoud Al Balushi, Head of the Communication and Media Department. This dialogue explored issues and aspirations pertinent to education and scientific research.

The meeting concluded with a visit to the exhibition showcasing student projects and innovations. This segment aimed to illuminate aspects related to education, scientific research, and the development of national capabilities, aligning with the overarching goal of Oman Vision 2040 to establish an integrated education system capable of competing on a national and international stage.
