Muscat: The Military Technological College on Wednesday received a new group of General Diploma students admitted through the Higher Education Admission Centre (HEAC) at the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation as part of the study coupled with employment program.
The applicants will fulfill the necessary admission requirements, which include written exams, medical checks, and personal interviews.
College studies begin with a foundation year that includes courses in English, math, physics, and computer science, which prepares students for specialized engineering programs. Their academic path includes practical training in laboratories and workshops tailored to each student's specialization. Students are assigned to the major specializations based on their personal preferences, academic success in the foundation program, and the requirements of their affiliated institution, which serves as a primary criterion.
The Military Technological College offers an Advanced Diploma after three years of concentrated engineering study.
This year, the college has opened admissions for nonemployment-related studies for both male and female students, with on-campus housing for male students and unique transportation services for female students. This initiative seeks to develop a complete educational environment that caters to their specific needs. The new cohort of students admitted under this track is anticipated to arrive in the following days.
This action is in line with the Military Technological College's goal of contributing to the local economy by training skilled national personnel to meet national development needs.
