Muscat: On Sunday morning, the Ministry of Education, through the Department of Educational Studies and International Cooperation, collaborated with the Generation Amazing Foundation in the State of Qatar, under the auspices of Sanaa bint Hamad Al-Busaidi, Advisor to the Minister of Education, to organize a ceremony marking the successful completion of the first two sessions of the Generation Amazing Programme.
The event was graced by the presence of Maryam Al-Riyami, Advisor to the Minister of Education for International Educational Relations, as well as the directors of the educational directorates in the governorates where the programme was implemented. Jassim Al-Ali, Director of Events at the Generation Amazing Foundation, and Hamad Abdulaziz, a key trainer at the Foundation, were also in attendance, along with school administrations and teachers.
The ceremony took place at Khasab Hall, located within the Ministry's General Diwan.
Commencing the programme, Muhammad Al-Alawi, International Relations Specialist at the Department of Educational Studies and International Cooperation, delivered a speech on behalf of the Generation Amazing Programme team at the Ministry of Education.
Al-Alawi stated, "The programme focused on the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth grades, with the aim of training and equipping school sports teachers from 24 selected schools. Among these schools, 14 were government schools and six were private schools, spread across three governorates: Muscat Governorate, South Al Batinah Governorate, and Al Dakhiliyah Governorate."
He further explained that the ministry's team, in collaboration with the educational directorates in the targeted governorates, meticulously chose these 20 schools based on specific criteria. Additionally, field visits were conducted to assess the facilities and readiness of the nominated schools to implement the programme.
The speaker expressed his great pride in concluding a remarkable journey that began in 2019 and had a positive impact on over 4,000 students across 20 schools. The dedication of the esteemed teachers in providing valuable knowledge to their students was acknowledged with pride. The bright future ahead was attributed to the collective efforts of everyone involved, and the commitment to continue this collaboration was emphasized.
During the ceremony, a video clip showcasing the Generation Amazing Programme was presented. It featured interviews with specialists discussing the importance, goals, training mechanisms, and footage of students actively participating in various activities and events conducted in schools.
Furthermore, a student presentation highlighted the skills acquired by the students during the programme sessions. Their interaction with peers in an engaging environment was showcased, demonstrating their sincere efforts to excel.
To conclude the celebration, the ceremony honored the school sports teachers, the management of the schools implementing the programme, and the programme follow-up team in the Ministry of Education.
It is important to note that the ceremony aimed to foster cooperation between the Ministry of Education and the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy in the State of Qatar. Additionally, it aimed to present key statistics and figures from the first session of the programme.
