Muscat: In Muscat, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources and Fisheries Development Oman have recently entered into an agreement regarding commercial aquaculture, specifically the breeding of shellfish. This project will be established in the Wilayat of Masirah, located in the South A’Sharqiyah Governorate. The investment value for this initiative amounts to OMR5 million.
The agreement was officially signed by Dr. Saud Hamoud Al Habsi, the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, and Muneer Ali Al Muniri, who serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Fisheries Development Oman. The responsibility for implementing this project falls upon the Blue Waters Company, which is an affiliate of Fisheries Development Oman.
Furthermore, Net Zero Solutions (NTZ) Company has also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the field of microalgae cultivation. This agreement was made with Al Tharmad Business and Services Company, as well as a Saudi firm known as Al Khadra Gulf Industries company.
