The “Drones Technology Event” organized by the Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Ibn Firnas Drone Center, successfully concluded in Muscat last week. With over 100 participants, the event was a part of the National Science Week and featured a range of presentations and hands-on workshops focused on drone technology. These sessions covered various aspects such as integrating drones into school curricula, fostering innovation, providing training opportunities, and ensuring compliance with drone regulations in Oman.

On the second day of the event, a discussion took place to explore the most effective methods for incorporating drone technology into the education system. The aim was to generate practical recommendations on how students can embrace this technology and prepare themselves for higher education, the job market, and entrepreneurship. Additionally, the session aimed to identify the fundamental requirements and capabilities needed to facilitate the adoption of drone technology across different sectors, including education.

The Ibn Firnas Center conducted a workshop on programming drones using Block and Python, offering hands-on training to the participants. This was followed by another workshop that highlighted the technological and technical capabilities of drones. The workshop showcased advanced drones used in scientific, practical, and military fields, and presented notable examples and achievements accomplished by the company for the benefit of various government entities and organizations.
