Oman Opens Integrated Visa, Medical Examination Centre In Manila

Manila: Oman Visa and Medical Examination Center has been opened in the Philippine capital, Manila, as part of a strategic effort by the Sultanate of Oman to simplify and regulate work visa processes in accordance with employment contracts approved under Omani labor law.

The opening ceremony took place under the supervision of Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, and Dr. Mahad bin Said Ba'awin, Labor Minister. This project marks the culmination of the investment forum held earlier this month between the two countries in Cebu, Philippines.

The center provides a comprehensive, one-stop service experience that includes biometric fingerprint registration, medical examinations, document and employment contract attestation, and value-added services.

The center is intended to improve efficiency, safeguard employees and employers, and eliminate reliance on uncontrolled third-party intermediaries by allowing firms to validate skills and qualifications to confirm that they meet job requirements.

Furthermore, the center provides services such as issuing Omani phone numbers and establishing bank accounts in Oman. It also has a specialized application information center and conducts awareness sessions on workers' rights and responsibilities. These procedures guarantee that employees have the information and assistance they require throughout the hiring process, making for a seamless predeparture experience.

The Omani delegation had formal talks with the Philippine Department of Migrant Workers, during which both parties reiterated their mutual goal of protecting workers and employers while encouraging ethical labor practices. The two parties agreed to collaborate closely to ensure the initiative's success, in accordance with their shared goals.

The Manila center is the first in a chain of similar facilities Oman intends to construct in important labourexporting countries, with other centers expected to open in the near future. This effort is part of a larger strategy to improve labor mobility frameworks and protect worker and employer rights in accordance with Omani labor law.

The project represents the Omani government's unwavering dedication to delivering excellent, safe services for citizens and residents, ensuring economic sustainability, and promoting ethical employment practices.

Eng. Nasser bin Said Al Manwari, Oman's Ambassador to the Republic of the Philippines, was among those who attended the event, as were other officials from both countries.
