Muscat: Attendees of the 2nd Arab Forum for Tourism Statistics 2024 have suggested that Arab nations should remain abreast of contemporary trends in the generation of tourism statistics.
The assembly endorsed the employment of advanced technologies, such as large-scale data analysis and artificial intelligence (AI) methodologies, to augment the precision and efficiency of generating tourism metrics, thereby optimizing the utilization of administrative records across various governmental departments.
The event was convened on Tuesday by the Sultanate of Oman, under the auspices of the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
It took place in collaboration with the Secretariat General of the Arab League and the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism.
The forum delved into two primary areas: "international insights regarding the utilization of non-traditional tourism data sources" and "Arab perspectives on the generation of tourism statistics."
