The University Of Nizwa Partners With GS Microelectronics Inc. For Semiconductor Training And Development

The University of Nizwa (UoN) and GS Microelectronics, U.S. Inc. (GSME) have joined forces to establish the "Nizwa Advanced Technology." This company, located in Muscat, will offer specialized semiconductor solutions and programs, along with an integrated training center. UoN holds a 90% stake, while GSME holds the remaining 10%. More investment opportunities for local businesses and individuals will be disclosed in the future.

This innovative initiative aligns with Oman's digital strategy and Oman Vision 2040, aiming to enhance the country's semiconductor industry and develop essential training facilities. The center will cater to employees of national organizations, job seekers, international companies, and students.

Dr. Walid Al-Rajhi, Dean of the Deanship of Planning and Quality Management at UoN, stresses the significance of this project, highlighting its alignment with national interests and its potential to reduce reliance on foreign training programs.

The partnership with GSME brings valuable expertise to Oman. Dr. Al-Rajhi notes that the project has undergone economic feasibility assessments and is well-equipped to meet the demands of Oman's job market.

The establishment of the Nizwa Advanced Technology center will propel Oman to the forefront of semiconductor education, serving as a hub for regional training and development. This initiative represents a significant investment in Oman's future technological and human capital growth.
