‘Taqa Wilayat Activities’ Launched In Dhofar

Muscat: The 'Taqa Wilayat Activities' initiative, as part of the Dhofar Khareef Season, has been inaugurated and is scheduled to continue until August 15.

Sheikh Tariq bin Khalid Al Hinai, the Wali of Taqa, has expressed, "These activities present a unique opportunity to showcase the cultural, social, and economic heritage of the Wilayat. Our objective is to foster sustainable development through various dimensions, including the enhancement of local tourism, attraction of visitors from both within and beyond the Sultanate of Oman, bolstering the local economy, and stimulating commercial activities."

He elaborated that these activities will provide support to productive families by offering them a platform to display and sell their handicrafts, agricultural products, and traditional foods. This, in turn, will enable these families to generate additional income and foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship within the community.

Furthermore, he highlighted that these activities will play a pivotal role in creating employment opportunities for the youth. This will be achieved through a variety of initiatives, including temporary job opportunities during the duration of the activities and permanent positions through projects initiated by participating institutions and companies.

The activities, organized by the Office of the Wali of Taqa, are scheduled to take place at several venues, including the main Al-Farda Theatre. This venue is home to a diverse array of cultural and entertainment activities, ranging from marine and rural environments to Omani arts, the "Energy of Love" operetta, and competitions for both children and adults.

Additionally, the entertainment program will feature beach games, electric games, and a range of exhibitions, including the Productive Families Exhibition, the Consumer Exhibition, the Heritage Exhibition, and an evening concert on the main Al-Farda stage.
